Pink City Prints
Pink City Prints is an artisan brand that brings the traditional crafts of Northern India to the streets of fashion megapolis. Founded by Molly Russell, a Glasgow Art School graduate, the brand was inspired by the creative communities of Jaipur during her time there.
Sustainability is at the core of Pink City Prints, dedicated to preserving the ancient folk arts of block printing, hand embroidery, looming, and lace-making. No fabric is wasted, and all materials are locally sourced. The organic cotton for Pink City Prints is pesticide-free and produced using water-saving technologies. Pink City Prints offsets carbon emissions from shipping their products to customers worldwide.
Over half of all garments are produced in-house in Jaipur, with the rest completed at supervised local workshops across India. Kolkata is home to the hand-looming unit. Each item is hand-crafted from textiles that are block-printed by hand on breezy organic cotton and poplin, ensuring the uniqueness of each garment and limiting designs to small batches.
New collection: flowing cotton dresses and skirts
This collection revives the Arts and Crafts feel in modern textiles by combining the vibrant colours of India with floral and fruity motifs from around the world. This rustic and folky inspiration results in daring combinations of multiple print patterns, where each tiny detail finds its place in the ensemble. The new collection features Tangerine, Hyacinth, Cobalt Blue Meryl, and Pink Rose Marigold printed dresses and skirts, decorated with ornamental pin-tucks, bows, and rustic lace.
